Drawing a Whale from Memory day 3

The images here are documentation of my current project Drawing a Whale from Memory. This project is conceptually similar to the last Drawing a Whale project although there are some very distinct differences. This project started the day of the opening for the Graduate Student's first year show titled Critical Mass that is annually held at the Trisolini Gallery on the campus of Ohio University. During this performance I will be drawing a Sperm Whale with my mouth everyday for the duration of the show.

Diagrams!!!

I have been working on a diagram to help me think through my projects on a more conceptual basis and so far it has been moderately successful. The first one needs more wok but I think it may be best for me to start over. This diagram was meant to help me understand what it is that interests me in the Sperm Whale as opposed to other mammals, though after starting the diagram I realized that I may need to start from a different place and come back to that question. In any case I have posted some photos of the fist attempt.

Details of Drawing

The photos above are details of the final drawing of the whale from the performance, Drawing a Whale. This will be the last post from this particular project for a while as I will be working on similar projects that will help dissect the results of the first project in the body of work I am currently dealing with. I do plan to come back to this project as I am interested in the editing and mediation all of the video footage and documentation from this project.

This is what the final drawing looks like, I will be taking some detail pictures of it soon.
Well, I am having some difficulty uploading video to blogger so, I will try again once I figure out how to upload the footage. In the mean time I have some photos from the project.

So, about three or four weeks ago I spent three hours a day for three days in point shoes, drawing a whale on the ceiling with my head, in a hand made costume and head dress. I used a small spy camera that I attached to the top of the headdress as a way to view my progress with the drawing. I'm finally getting around to updating my blog with some of the raw footage from the project. Let me know what you think.
